Why We Exist

A Generation Shaping the Future.

They are founding grassroots initiatives, teaching in under-resourced classrooms, innovating community health solutions, and standing up for human rights. They are building.

But driving sustainable change with limited resources is a heavy lift. Because no builder should walk alone, SoarAway Emikago bridges the gap connecting local youth organisations with passionate, skilled volunteers and interns from around the world to expand their reach, share knowledge, and deepen their impact.

The Heart Behind Emikago

Emikago Means
Sworn Covenant Brothers.

In Ugandan tradition, Emikago represents a sacred bond. It comes from a historic culture where two friends would enter a covenant, making a blood pact to become sworn covenant brothers journeying together through life, bearing each other's heavy burdens, and standing by one another through every trial and triumph.

"We do not offer temporary, transactional volunteer placements. We build covenants of lifelong solidarity."

When you join us, you are stepping into a sacred journey alongside Uganda's youth leaders building relationships that extend far beyond a calendar date, standing shoulder to shoulder as true covenant brothers and sisters to shape the future together.

A Message from Our Founder

"I know what it means to start young, to be filled with fire, and to lack the resources to build what is in your heart."

I started my first organisation at 20 years old. For 15 years, my life and work have been dedicated to standing alongside young people who feel that exact same fire coaching young founders and entrepreneurs across many African countries as they build solutions for their communities.

My own journey has taken me across the world. Living and volunteering in Botswana, Tanzania, South Africa, and the United States taught me that our diversity is our greatest strength, and that true collaboration happens when people from different backgrounds sit at the same table with humility, curiosity, and respect.

That is why SoarAway Emikago was born. If you are a young leader pouring your heart into your community — we see you, and we are here to back you up. If you are an international volunteer or intern looking to offer your skills — we welcome you.
